Well, I think we have started off 2012 right:

Birthday Parties & Pinewood Derbies

Sis and Grandpa Heuseveldt celebrated their birthdays together!

(Grandpa didn't mind that the cake was a Rainbow one.)

Gifts from G & G Heuseveldt

YAY! New Clothes! Sis loves getting new clothes.

G & G Call gave Sis some hand puppets to play with

and a new outfit. She loves them.

And all 3 brothers each gave her a Disney Princess Barbie.

Dad and Mom gave her a big girl bed and

a Tangled Bed Set to go with it.

She still LOVES Tangled.

Hyrum and the younger two boys had a lot of fun

designing and building their Pinewood Derby Cars.

They have inherited the Heuseveldt gene of

loving to work with wood.

Jarom built a Sword car.

Hyrum built a Hammerhead Shark car.

Tom built a Sailboat car.

Hyrum got a "Good Luck" hug from the Cub Master

before the big Derby began.

His car was AWESOME this year.

It took 1st two times, and 2nd once.

He also received the award for Most Unique Car!

Even though the younger two are not in Cub Scouts yet,

they had so much fun racing each other before and after

the official Pinewood Derby.

Jarom received his First Honors!

He was the very first 1st Grader to earn this Award!

I celebrated my 29th birthday on the 6th of November.

I am going to "live it up" my last year in my 20s :)

Jarom had a "fake injury day" at school.

We are so thankful he was NOT really hurt.

(I don't know why kids think it's so cool to act like they are beat up?)

Jarom came in 3rd place at the 2nd Grade Turkey Trot.

He brought home a 10 lb. bag of potatoes for Thanksgiving dinner.

Thomas took 2nd place at the Kindergarten Turkey Trot.

He brought home a Thanksgiving Pie.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year.

It was spent in Soda Springs at Rob's sister's home.

We have had many "Happy Haunting" memories this month!

Humpty Dumpty Had a Great Fall!

Hyrum fell head first from a 7' tall fence

landing on a cement pad.

We are so Grateful he only walked away with

a minor concussion, and a few bumps, bruises, and scrapes.

Hyrum celebrated his 9th birthday with the people he loves most - -

his siblings and cousins.

He cheered two of his cousins on to victory at

a Cross Country Meet in the Star Valley snow.

One of Hyrum's favorite gifts came from G & G Heuseveldt.

It was 2 Harry Potter Wii Games :)

He is really into sea animals right now so I made

him a shark cake. He looks pretty excited about it!

OUR SPECIAL BIRTHDAY DATE:

We went to Idaho Falls for the day with our Special Birthday Boy.

He picked out this "Cool Bike" at Target.

To quote You've Got Mail:

"I love Star Valley in the Fall.

It makes me want to go out and buy school supplies."

We have to enjoy the Fall Weather while it lasts.

Jarom and Hyrum love to pull Emberly in the bike trailer.

We always have one last "Hoo-Rah" before school starts.

This year, we went to Utah and spent a couple of days with

some really good friends from college.

On Friday night, we hired 2 babysitters for the 8 kids, and

the adults went to the Bountiful Temple.

On Saturday we went to Lagoon.

She rubbed sunscreen in her eyes and was not a happy camper :(

Hyrum and Jarom were the only ones who wanted to go

on this ride and get soaking wet! The rest of us were quite

entertained at their expense.

The lines were not too bad for Labor Day Weekend.

Sis was even scared of the Carousel.

She needed one!

We celebrated Tom's Birthday the two days prior

to school starting. On Sunday night, we had a Pizza Party!

I can't believe he is 6!

(He kept asking me when his wish was going to come true:))

Rob and I decided to take each child on a

Special Birthday Date with Dad and Mom this year.

We are off to Idaho Falls for a fun-filled day

with our Tom-the-Bomb!

He picked this orange bike out at Wal-Mart.

And had to have the glasses to go with it.

To our dismay, he chose to eat at McD's for lunch :0

Rob gave each child a wonderful father's blessing

before they started the school year.

Emberly was blessed to know and feel how much she

is loved and how special she is. She was told she would provide

comfort for her mom. She was also told to enjoy her brothers.

Hyrum - 3rd Grade

Hyrum was blessed with a thirst for knowledge.

He was told to use his intellect to better his life

and to help others. He was counseled to choose good friends

and to listen to the promptings of the Holy Ghost. He was told

to be a good example to his brothers and to open up a

path for them to follow.

Jarom - 1st Grade

Jarom was blessed with safety, comfort, and protection.

He was counseled to be a good leader and example to others.

He was blessed with a clear mind to learn and understand

what his teachers are teaching him. He was counseled to look

for opportunities to help and protect his brothers. He was told

that Heavenly Father knows and loves him. He was counseled to

develop a special relationship with his Heavenly Father as

he prepares for baptism. He was told to be a

warrior and stand for good.

Thomas - Kindergarten

Tom was blessed with an excitement to learn.

He has the ability to understand what is being taught,

to love others, to use his compassion to be a good friend, and

to find good friends. He was counseled to have

confidence in himself. He was told to grow strong

in his relationship with his older brothers.

He was reminded that Heavenly Father, his dad, and

his mom are proud of him. He was told to go to them

when he needed someone to talk to.

Fall Field Trips!

I'm so glad that I was able to spend the

day with Thomas looking for the signs of fall,

eating lunch at the park, and visiting a farm.

The Kindergartens had a Teddy Bear Clinic

at Star Valley Medical Center. (Would you want a

doctor working on you that dressed like this?)

Hyrum begged to participate in a Friendship Bridge Building

Contest. He invited 3 friends over, and I had Rob take off

work early. He was so proud of the bridge.

wonderful friendship!

{the BUSIEST month of the year}

Like any other month of the year, August felt like the busiest one!

We had the Lincoln County Fair, Temple Trips, Reunions, Soccer, Firewood Prep, Garden Harvest, Girls' Weekend Out, and Back to School Night!

YES, WE HAVE BEEN BUSY!

Rob and I did Baptisms for the Dead at the Logan Temple.

The kids walked around the temple grounds with Grandma Call.

I hope they felt the Spirit like I did that night.

We had our annual Heuseveldt Family Reunion at Bear Lake!

It was full of boat rides and beach bumming.

We even got to wake up at 5:30 a.m. to watch

a Lightning/Thunder Storm across the lake.

It was pretty cool!

They were so sad not to be on the same team,

but ended up playing together during a game because

Jarom's team was short a few players.

Luke happily volunteered to play on their team.

It was the happiest I saw Jarom all season.

Thomas & Cael have been best friends

since they were tiny little boys.

I can't believe they are going to Kindergarten!

And then there was sis. She endured all

of those soccer practices, games, and pictures with flare!

Here she is sporting her new purse while waiting

for her brothers to have their soccer pictures taken.

Every late summer and fall we get busy

scouting out, cutting, blocking, splitting, and stacking wood!

It's hard work, but it keeps us warm all winter through.

Watching sis relax in the shade with Ginger broke up

the monotony of running the wood splitter for Rob!

We had a Girls' Weekend Out with Grandma Call, Aunt Linsey, Me, and Sis!

It was alot of FUN! On Friday, we ate out at Texas Roadhouse and

went to the discount movie. We slept at Aunt Linsey's apartment, and then

headed off to Idaho Falls on Saturday morning. We went to the Bodies

Exhibit. It was so interesting. Sis loved the children's play area.

This horse was her favorite.

Then we had to eat at Olive Garden for lunch and hit the mall on our way out of town.

I love these special "girls" in my life!

The kids had fun flying kites on those windy August days!

They even let Emberly fly one until she let go of the string

and it floated away!

We have started harvesting our garden! Yay!

The boys picked all of our peas and shelled them.

We had over 10 cups!

Back to School Night!

All of our 3 boys will be at the brand new Afton Elementary Building this year! I am so EXCITED! This will not happen again until Hyrum is a Senior in High School!

I love their teachers, and I love the new school. It is going to be a GREAT year!

I LOVE MY BUSY LIFE!

~Summer Vacation 2011~

Our Family went to Grand Teton National Park

and Yellowstone for our summer vacation.

We had a BLAST!

The boys spent their first couple of days fishing

on Jackson Lake. They sat on the back of the boat

as Grandpa trolled along. The fishing wasn't that great,

but we did get a few catches.

Grandma enjoyed watching the boys fish.

Sissy loved the boat.

In the evenings, we went looking for wildlife.

...and we spotted a momma grizzly with her two cubs.

In fact they ran across the road right in front of our van!

It was one of the highlights of our trip.

We loved riding our bikes down to the showers each morning.

Poor Embers - we loaded her bike trailer up with all of our stuff.

We ate at a Dornans one evening.

The kids LOVED eating in the teepee.

GREAT STORY:

One morning, we went to see the Mud Volcanoes in Yellowstone.

As we were walking down the boardwalk to get in the van,

a buffalo came across the parking lot and started chasing us back

up the walk. I thought "No Problem - I have a Big, Strong husband

to protect me and the kids". NOPE, instead Rob was running

past all of us, and I was left between the buffalo and the boys.

I was RELIEVED when I saw it turn off the boardwalk and into the field :)

Sis loved going for walks on Daddy's shoulders.

She was so GOOD in the car all day as we drove around Yellowstone!

When we bought souvenirs, Emberly found these sunglasses and

would not put them down.

We camped at Fishing Bridge, but we only saw 1 fish off of the bridge.

The water is extremely high this year so the fish were down pretty deep.

On our last day, we had a few fights.

Rob had to sit on the curb and give "The Talk" to these two:)

Lower Falls of Yellowstone

It was the PERFECT vacation!

I'm so glad we were able to spend time together as a family,

and I'm glad Grandpa & Grandma were able to join us.

June was a GREAT month!

I went to Twin Falls to spend the weekend with some friends.

Emberly fell asleep like this on the way to Grandma's house.

How CUTE is that!?!

When I pulled back into the valley from my trip to Twin,

I had a message on my phone that said Jarom

was in the ER getting stitches.

(A Kung Fu fight went all bad.)

June is the month for baseball in Star Valley.

Tom played T-ball again this year.

He did GREAT!

Tom even hit it to the grass to earn a Milk Shake!

Jarom played Coach Pitch for the 2nd year in a row.

He was AWESOME!

Jarom also earned a Milk Shake by

hitting the ball to the grass :)

Hyrum played Coach Pitch again this year.

He is AMAZING!

And of course, he earned that Milk Shake too.

We planted our First Family Garden! YAHOO!

Emberly finds ways to "Brighten" those rainy days!

EVERY ENDING has a NEW BEGINNING

Our Family went out of the 2010-2011 School Year with a BANG!

We had Birthdays, Field Trips, Poetry Celebrations, Field Days,

Earth Days, Last of School Days, and so much more.

One Friday Night, I could NOT find our Jarom anywhere!

Finally, he showed up in our Blanket Closet -

fast asleep with his DS still in hand. Ha! Ha!

For Jarom's 7th, Rob and I took him on a

Special Birthday Date to Idaho Falls.

We gave him a new bike for his Birthday.

He picked out this Mountain Bike at Wal-Mart.

Then we went to the movie, Thor!

We ALL loved it.

To our dismay, Jarom picked McDonalds for lunch :0

However, we did luck out and get Cold Stone for dessert :)

We had a Double Birthday Bash at our home on Mother's Day!

Cousins, Taylor Harris and Jarom celebrated together

with the whole Heuseveldt Family.

I am so Blessed to get to go on Field Trips with my boys.

I went with Hyrum to the Tautphaus Park and Zoo in Idaho Falls.

This is the group I was with all day.

We had FUN!

I was also able to go on Jarom's Field Trip

to the Fish Hatchery in Auburn.

And of course, I volunteered to help at

Field Day and Earth Day.

The only down side was that they BOTH landed on the same day.

I was at the school from 9 - 2.

Poor Embers was EXHAUSTED!!!

I think the boys all wish they could crawl back in bed sometimes!

Our family enjoyed a weekend in Utah celebrating the

marriage of Rob's cousin, Ashley Gambles to Todd Llewellyn.

Emberly loved hanging out with Jorianne.

After waking up at 4 a.m. to make it to the wedding in time,

we all felt like this by the end of the day!

...good times with our family.

We stayed an extra night in Utah to play with cousins.

Our hotel had the coolest water park.

Jocelyn and Emberly loved swimming together.

The boys had fun camel fighting!

Emberly just had FUN!

...a trip to an aquarium.

Our boys spoiled us!

First, they sent us on a Treasure Hunt.

We found the cutest card at the end.

Then, they made us a dessert all by themselves.

(Of course, there were many phone calls

to Grandma asking questions.)

The Easter Bunny went all out this year!

Sis couldn't wait to start hunting for eggs.

She fell a little short of a pink egg.

Another toddler snatched it up before she could get it :(

WOW! We have had a busy March!

I'm sad to see that it has come and gone.

Rob and I celebrated our 10th Anniversary a month early.

Just the two of us went on a quick get-away to DISNEYLAND!

I Loved having my hubby all to myself for 4 whole days.

Before we flew out of Idaho Falls, we did a session at the Temple.

Then we had a romantic lunch at Olive Garden.

When we finally made it to Cali, we shuttled over to our hotel.

We couldn't stop laughing at the room we got for our 10th :)

Not very romantic, but we slept great in separate beds. Ha! Ha!

We love DISNEY!

The Tower of Terror is one of our favorites.

One night, we had a romantic, EXPENSIVE dinner at Ariel's Grotto.

This came with front row tickets to "World of Color"!

(An AWESOME water show!)

If you know me, you know I HATE being late!!!

We were the first ones to the park on our Early Entry morning.

We chatted with a Security Guard for about 30 minutes.

He must have really liked us because he picked us to open the park.

Yes, we were the ones at the entrance who counted down:

"10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 - Let The Memories Begin!"

We felt a little stupid, but hey opening Disneyland

is probably a once in a lifetime opportunity :)

I had Sleeping Beauty's Castle all to myself for a second. WOW!

Our trip came to an end all too quick!

Rob and I were so sad, but we look forward

to many more happy, magical years together!

Sis has kept us all busy and laughing.

She has the cutest personality.

Hyrum was sick with the Spring Flu.

He did enjoy drinking Sprite after Sprite and

taking Hot Jetted Tub baths.

And of course, there was Wrestling -

We had a WONDERFUL season.

All 3 boys went UNDEFEATED!!!

"Wii" Challenge YOU!

For the whole month of February our family was not

allowed to play the Wii or anything to do with Nintendo.

I was sick of the boys spending hours everyday staring at a screen,

and I was sick of all of the fighting and contention it caused.

So here is what we did instead...

Emberly discovered she likes to pull anything

and everything out of cupboards and drawers.

She is especially fond of Tom's clothing drawers

and his junk drawer. (Maybe it is because she can

reach his where they are on the bottom.)

The boys made lots of cards, notes, airplanes, etc. out of paper.

(I think we about went through a 500 page pack!)

Tom and I played LOTS and LOTS of games!

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Yahtzee was a favorite.

The boys mastered their hula-hooping skills :)

Here goes ANOTHER game -

Harry Potter Lego Game

Hyrum and I read "The Lost Hero" together.

It was such a joy for me to cuddle up with my

buddy and read to him for a couple of hours each night.

He scored 100% on the AR test for it :)

Tom played with all of his stuffed animals.

We went sledding -

Did a lot of creating/building with legos -

Tom made this pirate ship.

He was so proud of it because all of the

weapons were easily accessible for the pirates

in case they came across any trouble.

Sissy and I learned how to do her hair.

The boys talked me into letting them soak with Emberly

in our jetted tub. I had to take a picture because this

probably won't happen again. (Rob is very stern about

keeping the boys and girls separate when naked.)

Embers discovered a calculator could be her cell phone.

"Hi!"

We took the kids to the Jackson Rec Center

for another fun-filled day.

The last 10 minutes of the day, we finally discovered

how to keep her from falling down in the water.

And of course, much of February was spend in the basement

PLAYING BASKETBALL!

We went to a few Star Valley Braves games,

and the boys now want to be Basketball Stars!

(I guess Winnie-the-Pooh is their Mascot. Ha! Ha!)

We ended the month of February by playing

Scripture Basketball for FHE!

*We also put together a mini family reunion for the Heuseveldts.

All of Rob's family met at the AmeriTel in Idaho Falls for

a "Play and Stay" weekend. We swam with cousins, ate Dominos pizza,

(the adults ordered in Texas Roadhouse), and went to the movie.

Our family chose to go to Tangled!

I absolutely loved it. I think it is my new Disney fave.

Rob told me that it is probably my first of many

princess movies with Emberly. That made me smile!

I walk around the house now singing,

"Mommy knows best! Mommy knows best!"

The boys HATE it! Ha! Ha!

WOW! I can't believe how fast this month has gone by.

I don't know what stole our time except for the Pine Wood Derby.

Our month consisted of designing, making, and racing cars.

The boys had so much fun working in the shop (aka garage)

with their Dad.

Hyrum was so proud of his Bumblebee Car.

It raced really well on registration and "practice" night,

but it didn't do so well on derby night.

Even though Hyrum came in 2nd once and 3rd twice,

he still asked us on the way home if he could use this car again next year because he loves it so much. We laughed and told him that it would be fun to make a new one every year so that he would have 3 cars by the time he was out of Cub Scouts. What a Cutie!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE ONE!

We had a bunch of old toys in storage from when the boys were little so we decided to save some money and "re-gift" them for Emberly's 1st Birthday. The boys each helped clean them up, and were so EXCITED to give her their old toys. It brought back so many memories for me and for them. She was so HAPPY when she saw all of "her new toys"!

Of course, I had to splurge a little...

One of her greatest gifts was that her Dad rolled his truck on her birthday and walked away from it without even a scratch. We are so THANKFUL that Rob was okay.

He held on so tight to the steering wheel that he pulled it right off!

For Emberly's Birthday Dinner,

she enjoyed Spaghetti and Twice Baked Cupckaes!

I hid the cupcakes in the oven and forgot to pull them out before starting the breadsticks. Oops! I just told the boys that they were Twice Baked Cupcakes, and they loved them. Emberly quite enjoyed them too!

We had another party over the weekend with all of her

grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

I made her a huge Cupcake!

She was kinda scared of it.

All of her cousins sure enjoyed diving into it though.

Emberly enjoyed a little cupcake and ice cream from the high chair.

What can I say? - - It was Very Merry!!!

We made a Gingerbread Man House for FHE the

Monday before Christmas!

The BEST part was eating it for our FHE treats!

(We get teased for carving our pumpkins in our underwear.

Apparently we decorate Gingerbread Man houses in our undies too.)

On Christmas Eve, we always do a family gift exchange.

Mom gave Emberly a Ball Drop.

Jarom gave Tom a GI Joe Sword.

Dad gave Jarom a flashlight and leatherman.

Embers gave Hyrum a dart gun.

Hyrum built mom a stable for her nativity.

Jarom was dying to build mom something too.

He made her a Jewelry Box that says "To Mom Luv Jarom" on top.

Tom gave dad an avalanche shovel.

On Christmas Eve, we always give the kids new PJs and

new Pillowcases made by Mom. This year we did a Dino Theme.

(Embers is a "Pink T-Rex" - Ha! Ha!)

CHRISTMAS MORNING:

The only thing our princess cared about was:

Eating the Cookie Crumbs Santa left behind!!!

Hyrum's Christmas Surprises were:

A 3D Whitetail Deer Target and

a Star Wars Lego X-Wing Fighter.

Jarom's Christmas Surprises were:

A Remote Control Cyclaws Car and

a target to shoot his new bow and arrow at.

Tom's Christmas Surprises were:

A Super Smash Bros. Wii Game and

a bunch of Toy Story 3 Action Figures.

Emberly's Christmas Surprises were:

a Stocking full of treats,

2 princess sippee cups, and

her first doll and stroller.

We were lucky enough to have Grandpa and Grandma Heuseveldt spend Christmas morning at our house. They spoiled the kids with gifts, money, and love!

Hyrum received a Fishing Pole and

a promise to go fishing with his Grandpa come summer time.

Jarom received a Digital Camera.

Tom received a Donkey Kong Country Returns Wii Game.

(If you can't tell, Tom is our "Wii" playin' kid!)

Embers received an Adorable "Hanna Andersson" Dress outfit,

but she liked Grandma's Diet Coke best of all!

...and our BIG WOW this Christmas was a...

PUPPY!

I think I have decided that I love Thanksgiving as much as Christmas!

It is a time to Thank our Father in Heaven for our many blessings.

It is a time for families to gather.

It is a time to eat and eat and eat.

It is a time to start ANTICIPATING Christmas.

Our Thanksgiving weekend is always CRAZY (in a good way)!

Now she is confident enough to try the bunk bed ladder.

Hyrum earned his Reading Honors!

Hyrum made a goal to get his reading honors by Thanksgiving.

(or as Hyrum would tell, mom made the goal :) )

He did a lot of reading. Most of his points game from Percy Jackson books and Non-fiction books. Hyrum loves to read about animals!!! This is the hat Hyrum was given to let everyone know he is an Honors Reader! (Rob likes to tease him that he not only looks like a monkey, but he smells like one too. Hence the name of the post.)

He also earned $20 from Dad and Mom. Way to go, Hyrum!

In our school district, we have a "Fall Holiday" but everybody knows it is really a Hunting Holiday. In our home, we usually spend this 3 day weekend preparing the yard and house for winter, but not this year!!! For Hyrum's 8th Birthday his Uncle Kaleb and Uncle Kolby gave him the coolest gift: A Hunting Trip! They hunted deer in the morning, ducks in the afternoon, and moose in the evening. This little boy was so stoked!!! Thanks Kaleb and Kolby for the special memories Hyrum will always have of his 1st Hunting Trip.

I have had very mixed emotions about this birthday!

I am so proud of Hyrum and his decision to be baptized,

but at the same time I can't believe he is turning 8!!!

We did a special Heuseveldt Hunting Camp sleepover party.

He invited 4 of his closest friends and his cousin Brennen.

The boys had so much fun shooting a BB Gun and a Bow & Arrow.

They even used their imaginations and played like they were hunting.

They also played a Cabela's Hunting Game on the Wii.

We had Pizza Hut and Soda Pop for dinner

with Wildlife Cupcakes for dessert.

Hyrum chose to watch Home Alone for the bedtime movie.

Over the past of couple of weeks, I have sadly noticed how BIG my children are getting and how OLD I am becoming. I now of 2 children in school, one in 2nd grade and one in kindergarten. WOW! Tom celebrated his 5th, and Emberly is now 8 months old. I wish life could slow down a little bit.

ahhhh! FINALLY - some peace and quiet!

The kids are back in school and life is great.

BUT wait a minute, why am I so sad and lonely?

I miss having my little boys at home with me, and

they have only been gone for 2 hours!

I am so glad that I still have Tommy home with me for

one more year and Emberly for 5 more years!

Rob gave a wonderful FHE lesson last week on David & Goliath.

He taught the kids about the different types of "Goliaths"

they will encounter at school. He promised them that

with the Lord all things are possible, and that we can

always have the Lord on our side by Choosing The Right.

It was one of those lessons that will leave an impression

in our children's minds and hearts for some time.

(THANKS to my friend, Robin, for the great idea!

She always has awesome ideas that I like to steal from her.)

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL:

Rob gave each child a Father's Blessing last night to help them throughout the new school year!

Hyrum was told that he has the gift of learning. He needs to share his knowledge with other students that might be struggling. He was also counseled to talk with his mother each afternoon about his day at school. We love our 2nd Grader!!!

Jarom was told in his blessing that he has the gift of a friendly heart.

He was counseled to be friends with everyone. He was also told to

turn to Heavenly Father in prayer when he feels scared or sad.

We love our new Kindergartener!!!

Tom was blessed with a personality to make others happy.

He has had this gift since the day he was born, and he was counseled

to always use his upbeat personality to cheer others. He was also

told that he would have the great privilege of being the "big brother"

to Emberly this year and to do the job well.

We love our Pre-schooler!!!

...to Jump Start!

Jarom started Jump Start to Kindergarten this week, and

YES I CRIED. He absolutely loves it and thinks he is so big.

I followed the bus to school for a couple of reasons:

1...to make sure he didn't get lost.

2...to take more pictures.

Jarom was less than thrilled to see me at the school.

He kept telling me to stay home. He said he was a big boy, and

he promised he wouldn't get lost. When he hopped of the bus

only to find me standing there taking more pictures, he rolled his eyes

and walked right on past me. I was heart broken :(

I can't believe how fast he is growing up!

My once sweet new born, terrible two year old, biggest helper at home

is now leaving me and going off to school.

More tears are sure to come when "real" Kindergarten starts in 3 weeks.

Then I will only have 2 children at home with me during the day.

Fireworks are one of my faves about the 4th!

We usually watch them with my family at the park in Soda Springs.

When I was using the bathroom before the show, I dropped a medical cell phone in the Port-a-Potty. I begged and pleaded with Rob to go in after it for me. After a friendly little argument, he fished it out with some sage brush branches. Needless to say, the cell phone is ruined. I wonder how much we will be charged for that one. Ooops!

The BiG Parade was celebrated on Monday morning in Soda Springs.

My dad was so funny at the parade.

The umbrella he was using for shade kept falling on his head, and then he kindly offered to hold Hyrum's candy sack. I caught him sneaking a few pieces!

{Summer Vacation}

Our family summer vacation this year was spent in Utah with some friends from college. WE HAD SO MUCH FUN!!! It was the first time that we have taken the kids to Lagoon, and they loved it. In most of the pictures, they are on little kiddie rides, but I do have to brag that Hyrum and Jarom were both brave enough to go on "Wicked" twice and "Colossus" once. Emberly was the best baby (like usual). She hung out in her stroller admiring her painted toe nails most of the day. The next day we took the kids to a matinee. It was "Toy Story 3"! WAY CUTE!!! It made me sad to think about how fast my kids are growing up. We ended the trip with a BBQ and Water Party at the Eaton's house (friends from college). I didn't post any of the cute pictures from the water party because Rob threatened me with my life if I ever posted a picture of him in a swim suit on our blog :)

...it has rained or snowed almost every day this past month.

and I enjoyed going for a bike ride down by the lake.

I LOVE SPRING! For me, it is the Hope of New Beginnings.

I say "Hope" because I live in Star Valley, Wyoming where winter always lingers a little longer. (Okay, A LOT longer!) But when Spring and Summer finally hit the valley it truly is Heaven on Earth!!! We have had a lot of fun this Spring - - as we do every year.

WOW! March has been a BUSY month in our home!!! So busy, I haven't had time to sit down and blog any of our pictures or stories. So here goes the month of March:

Most of the time it is her whole fist.

She had her first set of immunization shots!

Rob started a new log furniture business called

R&R Rustic Furniture.

Log Dresser for the boys' room.

The first piece of furniture he sold was this set of bunk beds to a local furniture store here in the valley.

He does amazing work.

I LOVE this picture!

The kids and I took a quick trip up to Boise, Idaho with my mom and sister for the State Drill Team and Cheerleader Competitions. I needed to get out of the snow (even if it was for only 24 hours) and my sister's boyfriend is a stunter on one of the cheerleader teams.

I bribed the boys with swimming. If they were good during the 6 hour drive to Boise they could swim for 2 hours. Then if they were good at the Friday night competition, they could swim for another hour. It worked like a charm.

Emberly was so GOOD! She traveled like an angel, slept through most of the competitions, and loved watching the boys swim.

He took 4th place.

Tom also took 4th place, but he thought he took 1st.

He is so CUTE - - at this tourney he was wrestling kids that were 2 years older than him. This is a big deal when you are a beginner wrestler. Well, needless to say, he got the crap kicked out of him. But after it was done, he went up to Rob and said, "I can't believe I beat all those guys!" I am so glad he came home thinking he was a WINNER! In our eyes, he will always be #1!

I've been awarded the honest scrap award by a friend. You have to tell 10 honest things about yourself and then award 4 others with the award.

Here goes:

1. I am an American Idol freak!!! I started watching the show about 4 years ago, and I am absolutely addicted to it. When it gets down to the Top 10 I won't even answer the phone during the show! (I don't have T-VO!)

2. I LOVE to get up early in the morning during the week. I feel like the earlier I get up the more of a head start I get on my day. I love having all of "my chores" done for the day by 8:30 a.m.

3. As mentioned above, I give myself chores to do each day. On Mondays I have to do laundry. On Tuesdays I have to clean all of the bathrooms. On Wednesdays I have to do laundry, dust, and clean all floors. On Thursdays I clean whatever is bothering me or I take the day off. On Fridays I have to do laundry and clean all of the bathrooms again.

4. If you can't tell from #3 I will spell it out for you now. I have an OCD!!! If my house is not spotless I seriously start having panic attacks! It gets really serious if we are leaving the house for church or going to the store. I can't stand leaving the house a mess or coming home to a mess. As odd as this may seem, I truly hate this about myself! I feel like I have wasted too much of my life CLEANING! I wish I could relax a little bit more and just clean the house when it needs to be cleaned or on a weekly basis.

5. I love the game show Deal or No Deal!!!

6. I buy 99% of my children's clothes at The Children's Place. I seirously don't shop for clothes anywhere else. I love their clothes, and I love their sale prices!

7. I have been madly in love with my husband since I was in Junior High (he was a Junior and Senior in High School at the time)!

8. Something that bothers me almost every single day of my life is that I only have my Associates Degree. I always saw myself getting a PHD, Masters, or even a Bachelor's Degree. In some ways I feel I have failed myself. I DO PLAN ON GETTING MORE EDUCATION ONCE MY CHILDREN ARE ALL IN SCHOOL SO I CAN LIVE WITHOUT THE GUILT.

9. I have a major sweet tooth. I would rather skip a meal and eat a candybar than cut out the sweets in my diet.

10. I hate being late. When I was in Kindergarten, I would pray every night that I wouldn't miss the bus the next morning. I thought if I missed the bus that I would be late for school. I still have nightmares about being late for different things, and I always wake up sweating with my heart racing. Silly - I know!

I think my boys have Valentine's Day and Halloween mixed up!

They have been using their imaginations to create some pretty cool costumes. Hyrum dressed up like a Bald Eagle. Jarom dressed as Sword Man. Tom was King of the Sea, and they dressed Baby Emberly up as a Princess!

(I wonder if Rob will remember what Valentine's Day is??? :))
